LOCFS Community Outreach 2024 aims to enhance community engagement through impactful initiatives. Our recent event celebrated inspiring testimonies of recovery and triumph. Thanks to all supporters, we continue our mission to help individuals reenter society and thrive.

FACER Project 2024

FACER Project 2024

Through a subaward through FLIPP Inc. funded from the Department of Labor, LOCFS offers outreach, case management, and a 3-week paid internship in renewable energy, achieving a 100% completion rate in 2024 for the first Cohort. Out of 28 participants, 21 passed the NABCEP PV Associate exam on their first attempt, and six secured jobs in the sector within four months post-training.

Witnessing the growth of Piedmont Regional Jail's reentry programs to include renewable energy certifications was inspiring! The graduation ceremony honored the graduates' achievements. Special thanks to FLIPP, Inc., Solar Raye, and the dedicated staff for their efforts and the Honorable Commonwealth Attorney of Prince Edward County Megan Clark. This is a flyer that extends assistance for LOC Family Services to JOIN IN and help families during this change that we are all experiencing with REMOTE learning for school-age kids. This service is for enrolled participant with LOC Family Sevices or individuals who have a loved one who is currently incarcerated that is providing care for their children and desire assistance.

Bridging the Gap In Virginia has received a grant from Mertz Gilmore Foundation to sponsor a solar installation and environmental health training program in the Union Hill area of Buckingham County
